New course focuses on business perspectives in the neuroscience training and visits Philips Research. Students were impressed.
To learn about the business relevance of neuroscience know-how, students of the course ‘Mind & Machine’, which is part of the minor “Brain & Mind‚ organized by the CNRC, developed business projects based on anticipated progress in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, brain-computer interfaces, and smart-phone apps to support a healthy mental lifestyle.
The excursion to the High-Tech Campus in Eindhoven was a true highlight. Philips Research kindly welcomed our students and offered a glimpse of technologies currently being developed within the theme of “mind and machine‚. Students were impressed by the organization of the program and the enthusiasm of the Philips researchers presenting their R&D demos.
“We were taken by surprise to see how recent progress in neuroscience was explored by Philips to create tomorrow’s products‚ says Klaus Linkenkaer-Hansen who developed the course together with Niels Cornelisse.
