Mariana Matos received a poster prize at the Dutch Neuroscience Meeting (DNM).
Mariana is a PhD student in the Memory Circuits team of Michel van den Oever. Her research aims at revealing cellular and network mechanisms that support the encoding and retrieval of learned aversive and appetitive associations in the brain. On her poster at the DNM, Mariana presented a newly identified circuit within the medial prefrontal cortex that mediates extinction of conditioned responding to cocaine-associated contextual cues.
