With the grant, CNCR scientist Van der Sluis will build her own research line.
Vidi grant for eight talented scientists VU and VUmc
Eight talented scientists from VU and VUmc received a Vidi grant from the Dutch Organization for Scientific Research. The scientists receive up to 800,000 euros to develop their own research line and to build a research team.
Sophie van der Sluis (VU / VUmc)
Human behavior is hereditary to a large extent, but variability and complexity of behavior complicate identification of genes involved. In order to unravel the underlying biology of behavior, researchers develop new methods of genetic analysis, which reflect the versatility and dynamics of behavior.
Vidi
Vidi is aimed at outstanding researchers who have been successful for several years after their doctorates. These scientists belong to the best ten to twenty percent of their field. With a Vidi grant they can do research for five years.
NWO Vidi selects the winners based on the quality of the researcher, the innovative nature of the research, the expected, scientific impact of the research proposal and the opportunities for knowledge utilization.
