We are continuously working to gather more information on STXBP1 mutations, both those identified in patients as well as in asymptomatic individuals. We are already in contact with physicians treating STXBP1-carrier patients world-wide. If you have (a) patient(s) carrying a STXBP1-mutation, we would be very happy if you would get in touch with us. Our aim is to gather and summarize all currently known information about STXBP1 patients. This includes information on clinical symptoms that are experienced by patients, but also genetic data and EEG measurements (if available). In addition to this, we intend to study the molecular and cellular effects of pathological STXBP1 mutations. This can be achieved through the expression of mutant STXBP1 in rodent cells or in iPSC-derived human neurons.

N: Wij zijn continu bezig met het verzamelen van meer informatie over STXBP1-mutaties, zowel mutaties gevonden in patiënten, als mutaties in asymptotische personen. We hebben contact met clinici over de hele wereld die STXBP1-patiënten behandelen. Als u een patiënt behandelt met een STXBP1-mutatie stellen wij het zeer op prijs als u contact met ons opneemt via het emailadres stxbp1center@vumc.nl

Ons doel is het verzamelen en samenvatten van alle momenteel bekende informatie over STXBP1-patiënten. Dit omvat informatie over klinische symptomen die patiënten ervaren, maar ook genetische gegevens en EEG-data (indien beschikbaar). Daarnaast bestuderen we de moleculaire en cellulaire effecten van pathologische STXBP1-mutaties. Dit wordt gedaan door gemuteerde STXBP1 tot expressie te brengen in knaagdiercellen of in menselijke neuronen afkomstig van iPSC’s.
